# Nalua Valley – Setup

Description of steps to start Nalua Valley on a server

# Installation of Luanti and VoxeLibre

To run an instance of Nalua Valley on a server, you have to install Luanti first. To be reachable, you have to setup the luanti.conf file. Information on the installation steps for Luanti are available on the [Luanti site](https://www.luanti.org/en/).

As described before, Nalua Valley is an expansion of VoxeLibre. You will have to install VoxeLibre next to run Nalua Valley. The installation possibilities are described on the page [Installation](https://wiki.mavori.ch/books/nalua-valley-voxelibre-as-functional-foundation/page/installation "Installation").

If you start VoxeLibre the first time, the system will establish a new world and put it in the "world" folder in "worlds" using a random seed. As some plants are limited to some biomes, you should avoid to start in desert, taiga or jungle. It is a good way to start muiltiple worlds until you find a seed which is appropriate. You can also preset a seed in the luanti.config file.

As described before, Nalua Valley is a combination of mods, that have to be installed on your server to run the game.
